1.
How did the project start? |
As Douglas was crossing a busy street in Manila he witnessed a little girl sleeping on the sidewalk under the hot sun. His pity for the conditions that the child was forced to live in fueled a passion to make a promise to God and help all he could. Douglas through his faith attributes everything to Christ which has transformed his heart to build an orphanage for children.

Once I’m a donor do I need to attend meetings or vote on issues? |
No. Non-Board members do not have to attend meetings or vote on issues regarding the organization. However, for your convenience when you log-in a button will appear on your control panel when an opinion vote is in progress. Most topics are voted on-line through our website. If you would like to attend a board meeting please contact us and we would be happy to invite you.

How many donors do you need and how long before you build the orphanage? |
Well, we have several fundraising events that can be viewed on the donate page. We would need to raise approximately $125,000 to either buy or build a suitable structure with land. The truth is we can build an orphanage with the bare necessities for $20,000 but we want people to visit us and spend their vacations with us which in turn will help offset the cost of running the orphanage and ultimately help more children. Once the initial funds are raised we would then need 88 Godparent sponsors who would be willing to donate monthly to help the long term funding for the orphanage. Please view more information about our God parent sponsors here

What is a God Parent Sponsor & how long am I committed? |
A godparent will choose a child that they have a fondness or connection with and each godparent can communicate with their godchild via email or over the internet. You can also, see your godchild using webcams or talk with them, learning about their progress in school, friends, interests and who they are as a person. You will be a godparent in every aspect of your godchild's life and most important you will give them a chance at a better tomorrow. It’s really up to you how long you want to be committed but I'm sure once you start a relationship with your child it will be life-long and beautiful way to share the love of Jesus. Eventually, we would like the orphanage to be self-sufficient, meaning by raising our own crops and products, or by selling our crops at the markets we are able to subsidize the costs Please click here for more information

Who will raise the crops to sell at the markets? |
We will follow Government child labor laws but the children (under the supervision of an adult) will be required to have ”Jobs” and take ownership of their orphanage. These experiences are important for teaching children social skills and developing their little minds to become cognitively higher-level thinkers. Douglas’s philosophy is that, “Sacrifices were made by our members when they donated their time and money, therefore, the children must also learn to (sacrifice) by devoting their time to prayers, studying, and healthy work relationships. Yes, will have fun activities for the children but our members are entrusting that we will make life changes and we will teach this though our values of education and hard work in a Christian ambiance of morals and values. |

Where do you plan to build the orphanage in the Philippines? |
We are currently working on three land deals. but no matter where the orphanage is located we can help children and families from all over the Philippines.
Primary (Salvador near Cagayan de Oro) (6,000 sq meters of land has been offered for donation)
Secondary (North of Manila) we may have a possible donor that will donate land.
Tertiary (Dapitan) where Douglas owns a small plot of land that could be used for the orphanage. |

Can I visit the orphanage when it’s completed? |
Yes, and its free to all donors. We want people and donors to visit us when the orphanage is built or even when we are constructing the facility/Home. When you visit us you will be treated as an honored guest and it is truly a life changing experience to see the natural beauty of the Philippines mixed with the sadness of poverty. It will change your heart and the way you look at life forever…I promise you. |

Are any salaries paid to staff? |
No. This is from the heart and currently all staff are voluntary which means your money goes to build the orphanage and not into administrators pockets. What a great world this is!!! |

12.
What are the expected salaries of employees when the orphanage is complete? |
This is a great question because we know people want money to go towards children and not high paid salaries and administration fees. Ultimately, YOU will make this decision by voting when the orphanage is complete. Are estimations are looking at somewhere around $15,000 yearly for an educated Christ centered staff to take care of the children and the orphanage—but again, you will vote on this and Douglas has vowed to make it work even if he is never paid a cent. |

14.
What percentage of money goes to administration fees? |
When you sign up as a donor you choose the amount you want to donate to help in administration costs, such as web costs, printing, advertising, etc… This ranges from a low 5 to 15 percent (Most other organizations are 20 to 85 percent) and as our donors you have total control to make the choice for the money you donate. How cool is that!!! |

15.
What about expense accounts, car allowances etc? |
First of all, these accounts don’t exist in the United States or when the orphanage is built in the Philippines. Secondly, all expenses for travel, cars, scooters, or items associated must come from the employee salaries. This project is from the heart and as we expect the children to sometimes sacrifice so we (the adults) must also. |
