The stories are real stories from experiences Douglas encountered as he often stops and talks with the street children to better understand their situations; However, please understand that the child here just an example to give you an understanding of a street child's life. We are currently raising funds to build an orphanage so we can give street children (like the Mary example) a chance at a better tomorrow.
About Mary:
Mary sleeps on the street with other children at night and during the day she can be found begging between cars at stop lights and scavenging for food from leftovers or what people will give her on the street. She was very dirty, looked as if she had lice and needed a bath. When asked about her parents she did not know exactly where they were and a home is unclear. She has a bright smile but you can tell she is mentally lost and does not know how long they have been on the street or the last time she has been in school. Other locals and/or children reported that she has been making friends with other street children. Sometimes the neighbors and local vendors might give her food or try to help her but they are already overburdened with caring for their own families that they often don't have enough to share. She finds comfort in being with other children. Mary is just one of the many children that need your help of faith, hope, and love.
